20. Day 7: A new way of being with myself

Words Heal Me – Day 7: A new way of being with myself

You’ve arrived at Day 7 of this gentle journey. Today is a day of reflection, gratitude, and choosing how you want to continue.
Healing self-talk is not finished in a week, but you have planted important seeds.

Looking back over the week

Over the past 7 days, you have practiced:

  • Meeting yourself kindly: “I’m here with you.”
  • Naming what you feel: “There is ______ here.”
  • Offering a gentle response: “It’s okay to feel this.”
  • Including your body: “Body, I’m listening.”
  • Walking with difficult parts with kindness.
  • Letting Love or warmth help hold your experience.

These are not small things. They are deep acts of courage and care.

Today’s healing phrase

Today’s phrase is a blessing for the path ahead:

“May I continue to walk gently with myself.”

Day 7 practice (10–15 minutes)

  1. Find a calm space.
Sit or lie down comfortably. Let your breath slow a little.
  2. Remember the week.
Gently recall moments from each day’s practice. Notice any small shifts in your inner tone, body, or perspective.
  3. Repeat today’s phrase.
With each exhale, say: “May I continue to walk gently with myself.”
  4. Place a hand on your heart.
Feel the warmth of your own touch. Let it be a symbol of commitment to inner kindness.
  5. Rest in silence.
Sit quietly for a few moments and simply feel that you are here, alive, and worthy of care.

Gentle reflection

You might journal about:

  • What has changed, even slightly, in how I speak to myself?
  • Which phrases felt most helpful or true?
  • How might I keep one or two of these practices alive in daily life?

Continuing your journey

This 7-day journey is a beginning, not an ending. You can:

You might also place one favourite phrase somewhere you’ll see it every day – a mirror, a journal, or beside your bed.

Thank you for walking this week with such courage and tenderness.

With deep respect,
Ross
